What does the surgery involves?

Silhouette lift is a less invasive surgical procedure. Dr Fok performs this procedure under twilight sedation combined with local anaesthesia at his Ambulatory Surgery Centre as an outpatient. The patient are relaxed and asleep, the face will be insensitive to pain throughout the entire procedure.

The surgery usually takes an hour or longer if its done in conjunction with other surgical procedure. Small incisions are made in the temporal region and hidden in the hairline. The sutures are attached and anchored to the temporal fascia. A facial compression bandage may be put on immediately after surgery while the patient is recovering from the twilight sedation.

What is the recovery like?

The patient will be up and about the next day after surgery and can resume normal activities within two days. The patient usually feels comfortable though may experience some swelling and bruising. Medications will be prescribed by Dr Fok post operatively.
